Immediate Response Group, LLC and its team members have spent years specializing in the protection of people and assets. Since 2005, IRG has been training people in all professions how to mentally and physically prepare them, as well as develop responses to deal with the various acts of violence directed at their organizations.
Buell Elementary School, Columbine High School, University of Arizona, and Virginia Tech; these are just a few schools that unfortunately know all to well the devastating impact a school shooting can have on a school and the community. IRG has developed a program; we call S.E.R.T. (School Emergency Response Training). S.E.R.T. is a comprehensive program developed as a response to school violence. This program prepares schools for various security issues that can occur in schools today, with a great deal of focus on “active shooter”. No two schools are exactly alike, making it impossible to establish procedures that will work in every school with the same end result. IRG will present you with different strategies and approaches and customize responses for individual organizations to assist you in creating a safer learning and working environment. We work with all levels of school staffing to make sure that they understand what to do in those first critical seconds of a school shooting. At IRG we are committed to changing the all-to-often result of extreme school violence: School staff and children being hurt or even killed due to an inadequate response and training.
History has proven that a lockdown alone is not a sufficient defense against a determined active shooter.

In order for any type of policies and/or procedures to work, they must be established and implemented with total participation and support of the school board, school administrators, faculty, parents, students, community members, emergency response personnel and law enforcement. IRG will assist you in making sure that all involved parties are aware and understand your established policies and procedures through real-life scenario training.
IRG can also offer K-9 narcotics and explosives detection as an additional or stand-alone service. Our narcotics K-9’s are trained in passive alert narcotics detection only, they are not cross-trained as “bite dogs” like many law-enforcement K-9’s. Our narcotics K-9’s enjoy people and adapt well to any type of environment and do not damage property. Our narcotics K-9’s are trained to detect gun powder, so they will detect firearms and ammunition. Our explosives K-9’s are cross-trained in patrol, but in the event we are called out to investigate for explosives, the building should be evacuated.

IRG has over 50 years of combined training and experience as personal protection specialists, school resource officers, SWAT officers, military personnel and tactical trainers. We will pass along our experience and training in how to evade, escape and survive horrific situations.
