Disaster and Emergency Response |
IRG Emergency/Disaster Response Teams provide security and mitigation support to organizations around the world. IRG Emergency/Disaster Response Teams have both the benefit of extensive training and boots on the ground experience. We routinely protect high-value assets in the hundreds of millions of dollars in both times of calm and chaos.
The devastation in the Gulf Coast Region following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, educated many organizations the hard way. Everyone had their basic disaster recovery plan. They all knew what to do; the procedures that needed to be followed, what internal personnel needed to do, as well as how local authorities would respond. They had run drills and contingency exercises, and had performed desktop scenarios, carefully planning out the roles and responsibilities of available resources. It was understood what had to happen in the short term, while contingency plans were being executed.
As everyone saw, we now know what happens when the resources you were counting on are not there, because they are just as effected as your organization. We also saw what happens when your own security as well as law enforcement just leaves; when access to your facilities is non-existent and you do not have the basic necessities needed to survive.
Facilities and hundreds of millions of dollars in assets, left to become a free-for-all to looters, vandals and the elements, causing even further damage and deterioration. Everyone learned that even the best of plans at that time, had left for many unaccounted issues.

Following Hurricane Katrina, IRG was responsible for one of the largest financial institution recoveries in Gulf Coast history. We completed our mission with 100% success, even when the city of New Orleans was in complete chaos and there was no sense of city infrastructure, we had zero issues. Our clients, along with their personnel and assets were kept safe at all times. When other companies were giving interviews about their assignments, you did not see IRG on the news or read about us in the newspaper, and that is how we like it. We want our clients to know, that even a time when it would be easy for us to say “Hey, look at what we are doing over here” and gain a couple moments of fame, we will not. We hold all our team members to a strict code of confidentiality, this is to ensure, not only the safety of our client, but also the safety of our team.
When a disaster comes with advance warning, IRG Emergency/Disaster Response Teams will arrive prior to the disaster and remain on-site for the duration, providing both pre and post disaster protection and security. Without advance warning, IRG will immediately deploy to the effected region and assess your situation.
Emergencies and disasters can bring out the ugly side of some people and with recent large scale disasters, we have seen just what can happen when that ugly side comes out. There are people who take advantage of others during a crisis by stealing, raping, murdering, or instilling fear into the general population. Sometimes these people are forced to commit criminal acts out of desperation or self-preservation, while other times, they do it out of spite, greed or anger. Whatever the situation, security during and after a disaster is required for the protection of both people and assets.
IRG has made a great deal of investment in additional necessary equipment, supplies and materials needed for
an immediate deployment from anywhere to anywhere. No other company in our field is as qualified and prepared to provide for security personnel needs, rapid response and long term disaster recovery requirements.
Currently, IRG has several elite, Disaster Recovery Protection Units (DRPU's) comprising of between 6 and 8 PSD specialists. These teams are available for rapid deployment anywhere in the world. Due to the problems posed by flying our teams into the Gulf Coast (inability to carry large amounts of necessary equipment, etc) our teams are deployed by road and can arrive onsite with all the necessary equipment and supplies to be almost totally self sufficient within 72 hours of activation.
